FETHIYE
Fethiye is a popular resort of great charm and
beauty. The houses of the old town look down on the little port from a
hill crowned with a fortress built by the Knights of Rhodes.
At Fethiye
(ancient Termessos), there are more than twenty impressive rock tombs
cut out of the steep rock wall above the town.
The new town of Fethiye is a very Turkish port and trading town
on the SW Mediterranean coast.
Fethiye is within easy reach of the popular Calis beach and
Sovaliye Island opposite the town.
In May, basking under a warm sun, it is not unusual to see the snow
capped peaks of the mountains in the distance to the east and south. The
peaks in close by Oludeniz, provide excellent take-off points for some
